Food Insecurity

GCCC supports programs like the Our H.O.M.E. Food Pantry and The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) that address food insecurity.

The Our H.O.M.E. Food Pantry promotes Helping others with Opportunities, Meals, and Empowerment. The pantry runs on donations and serves the residents of Garden City. For more information, call the Community Resource Department at 734-793-1859.

The Emergency Food Assistance Program is a federal program that helps supplement the diets of low-income Americans, including elderly people, by providing them with emergency food and nutrition assistance at no cost. The Maplewood Center is a distribution site!  To enroll, call 734-793-1859.

The Maplewood Community Center is also home to a community garden.  The produce grown is directly donated to Our H.O.M.E. Pantry.
